Resilience as a powerful buffer
against stress & energy depletion
In a world full of tight deadlines, constant change, constant stimuli and demanding expectations, it is a challenge to keep going. To keep performing without being completely exhausted by the end of the week.
How can you learn to cope better with this high pressure?
How do you keep going in these challenging times?
The emphasis is often placed on better time management, setting priorities and setting boundaries. That is certainly important, yet often not enough.
Research shows that resilience is a crucial protective factor against chronic stress and even burnout. Why do some people continue to function well under high pressure, whilst others slowly burn out?
The difference appears to be resilience.
More energy. More inner peace. More self-confidence.
That is the power of resilience.

What is resilience?
Resilience does not mean that you ‘have to cope with everything’ or ‘always have to be strong’.
Resilience is the ability to:
Recover quickly after mental strain
Regulate emotions under pressure
Maintain self-confidence when making complex decisions
Adapt flexibly to change
Use setbacks as opportunities for growth
Make effective use of resources, such as support from family and friends
Employ personal skills such as putting things into perspective and optimism
The good news?
Resilience can be developed.
Some people are naturally resilient, but anyone can build up their resilience.
Balance coaching
how we build your resilience
Boost your self-awareness & self-confidence
During the coaching sessions, you’ll get to know your talents as well as your pitfalls. Pitfalls are unconscious patterns that take over when you’re under pressure or stressed. They’re often extreme versions of your talents. For example, a ‘sense of responsibility’ can turn into an ‘inability to let go’.
Perfection doesn’t exist, and it’s not necessary at all. Instead, we’ll look together at where you can develop. Which talents you can utilise more and how you can learn to avoid your pitfalls.
Pay attention to good self-care
Resilience starts with a solid foundation, and a healthy lifestyle can provide strong support for this. Good sleep, healthy nutrition, sufficient exercise and connection with family, friends and colleagues not only have a major impact on your well-being, but also on your ability to cope with stress and pressure.
During the program, we’ll work together to see what works for you. If necessary, we’ll also supplement this with breathing exercises and meditation tailored to your needs. Read more about healthy balance here.
Learn to regulate your emotions
Emotions are part of our human existence and guide us more than we realise. During the sessions, you will learn to stay in touch with your emotions without being overwhelmed by them. By regulating your emotions in this way, you can significantly increase your stress resilience.
This may seem like a long list.
But the great thing is: progress in just one of these areas can already make a noticeable difference
What results
can you expect
The pressures and difficulties in your life won’t disappear. After all, life isn’t perfect, and it doesn’t need to be.
You will, however, deal with them differently, and that in itself makes a world of difference.
This is what greater resilience looks like
You no longer feel drained at the end of the week
You recover more quickly after busy periods
You remain calm when faced with unexpected problems
You think more clearly when making complex decisions
You let yourself be less overwhelmed by stress or conflicts
You worry less after a difficult meeting
You communicate better and more easily
You experience greater focus and less procrastination
You can adapt more quickly to change
You are better at giving and receiving feedback
You have more self-confidence in conversations
You are better at setting boundaries
You see learning opportunities instead of failures
You feel more in control

Several years have passed since then, and I still feel the impact every day, both professionally and personally. I would therefore strongly recommend Joke to anyone who wants to grow in their role in a conscious and thoughtful way.

My approach.
we start with an intake
During an intake, we’ll work together to identify your needs and what you want to achieve. To better identify any blind spots and potential issues, your line manager and/or HR manager may also be invited to attend.
We map out a bespoke program
I don’t believe in dogmas, because what works brilliantly for someone else might be completely pointless for you.
That’s why we always work with a program that is entirely tailored to your needs. I constantly tune in to what you need right now and what suits you best.
We evaluate
At the end of the program, we evaluate where you currently stand and what is still needed to integrate this sustainably into your work and your life. Here too, it may be helpful to invite your line manager and/or HR manager.
